Ben’s Background
Ben graduated from Avila University in 1998 with a degree in Information Science, where he also played basketball for four years. After graduation, he began his career at Sprint as a software engineer and spent 18 years with the company, ultimately serving as an Application Architect.
In 2004, while still working in the corporate world, Ben and a friend purchased a hardwood flooring franchise—an experience that sparked his passion for the trade. Over time, that early venture evolved, rebranded, and ultimately became Kimminau Floors in 2011. In 2016, Ben left Sprint to dedicate himself full time to growing the company.
Today, Ben focuses on business development, sales, and marketing, while also staying actively involved in project management and field operations. His hands-on approach and commitment to craftsmanship have helped Kimminau Floors and Garage Flex become trusted names across Kansas City.
Ann’s Background
Ann graduated from Rockhurst University in 1994 with a degree in Medical Sociology and Philosophy, where she played volleyball for the Hawklets. She began her professional career with Catholic Charities of Kansas City–St. Joseph, spending 13 years in leadership roles, including Director of Human Resources and Continuous Quality Improvement.
After stepping back for several years to raise the couple’s two sons, Ann has since taken a larger role in the family business. She now oversees human resources and office administration and plays an important part in client satisfaction and project closeouts—meeting with homeowners to review completed projects and proper floor care practices.
Family & Interests
Ben and Ann were married on October 25, 2003, and have two sons, Connor and Adam. As a family, they enjoy attending sporting events, golfing together, and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks with friends and extended family.
Both are competitive by nature—Ann enjoys working out and even competed in a figure bodybuilding competition in 2011, while Ben channels his energy into golf, often playing in amateur events around Kansas City.
