First 48 Hours (Cure Period)

  • 12 hours: Light foot traffic only
  • 24 hours: Return lightweight items
  • 48 hours: Vehicle traffic allowed
  • Avoid washing, mopping, or exposing the surface to water during the first 48 hours.
  • Do not turn vehicle tires while stationary (“power steering burn”) during the first week.

Routine Cleaning

Polyaspartic floors clean easily with basic household products.

Weekly / As Needed

  • Sweep or blow out dust and debris.

  • Rinse with clean water from a hose or mop.

  • Use a soft bristle broom or microfiber mop.Avoid stiff or metal brushes.

Monthly

  • Wet mop with mild cleaners such as:

    • Dawn dish soap (a few drops in warm water)

    • Simple Green diluted

    • pH neutral floor cleaner provided by Garage Flex

  • Rinse thoroughly to avoid soapy residue.

  • Use foam squeegee to remove excess standing water.

Avoid: harsh degreasers, citrus cleaners, vinegar, bleach, ammonia, or abrasive powders.

Stain & Spill Management

  • Wipe up spills promptly, especially oils, gasoline, brake fluid, and chemicals.

  • For stubborn spots:

    • Apply warm soapy water

    • Let sit 2 to 3 minutes

    • Scrub lightly with a soft bristle brush

Avoid: long term exposure to hot tire residue or harsh automotive fluids.

Seasonal & Annual Maintenance

  • Rinse the floor thoroughly at least once per season.
  • Inspect control joints and caulked areas yearly for wear.
  • Consider re application of clear top coat only after many years of heavy use (typically 10 to 20 plus years depending on load and traffic).

What to Avoid

To preserve your finish, do NOT use:

  • Power washers over 1,200 PSI directly on the coating
  • Steel wool or abrasive pads
  • Tire shines or silicone sprays on the floor
  • Acid based cleaners
  • Sand or grit based traction products
  • Space heaters blowing directly on the surface during curing.
